Trace Identity: Season 1, Episode 13.
In 1996, investigators discovered human remains at Fox Hollow Farm, the Indiana estate of Herb Baumeister. The discovery exposed a seemingly ordinary family man as a serial killer who had hidden his victims’ remains on his own property.
Thirty years later, the work of identifying his victims is still unfinished.
In this episode of Trace Identity, investigators, forensic scientists, and family members recount the disappearances, the discovery at Fox Hollow Farm, and the renewed effort to identify the men whose remains were left behind.
With approximately 10,000 bones, fragments, and teeth to examine, investigators face a challenge that extends far beyond finding the killer. We follow how DNA testing and forensic genetic genealogy are helping restore identities and return loved ones to their families.
Along the way, the families of Allen Livingston, Daniel Halloran, and Manuel Resendez share who these men were, what their absence left behind, and why the search for answers must continue.
This is the story of the victims found at Fox Hollow Farm and the families who never stopped looking for them.
