I’m getting our home ready for the shift, keeping things simple, unhurried, and grounded in everyday country life. In this video, I wander a shop looking for kitchen decor, surprise my family with a sweet, fragrant melon, decorate the kitchen for autumn, and we finish building the play area for our dogs — then watch them slide down their little hill, which recharged us with joy for the whole week ahead. 🏡 I start the day with a cozy trip to the shop in search of home decor. Our little dog Nefi came along with me, and after shopping we stopped by a café to enjoy some fresh-baked treats together. 🌼 On the way home, we picked up a sweet, fragrant melon — it tasted just like summer. I was so happy to surprise my daughter and my husband with such a simple, delicious treat. 🍁 Then the autumn preparations began: I tidied up the kitchen, brought out our pumpkin and acorn garlands, our seasonal mugs and warm cozy decor, and hung a thrifted curtain that I finished with ruffles I sewed myself. 🐾 It was a warm, sunny day, and my husband finished assembling the dogs’ play area. We spent the afternoon taking them down the slide and soaking up their pure, silly joy. We never expected them to run to the slide all on their own 😊 It was the sweetest, funniest thing.
