Why should young people return to farming? 🌱 For generations, farming has been seen as a traditional occupation — something difficult, uncertain and with limited opportunities. But I believe the future of farming can look very different. In this video, I share my honest thoughts on why young people should start looking at farming again, not just as an occupation, but as a business, an investment and a way to build something of their own. I also talk about the changing world of work, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how technology may change many jobs in the coming years. But this isn't a video saying that farming is easy. Far from it. Farming comes with its own challenges — weather, markets, labour, investment, patience and years of hard work. I've experienced many of these challenges myself while developing Shail Kunj Orchard in the hills of Himachal Pradesh. From apples and blueberries to modern farming techniques and experimenting with new crops, I'm trying to build a farm that can be productive, sustainable and commercially viable for the future. Maybe farming isn't for everyone. But perhaps it's time for young people to look at farming differently.
