Before the construction of the modern Kohat Tunnel, travelers had to cross this mountain pass with its winding roads and breathtaking views. The historic pass became an important route during the British era and remained a strategic gateway between southern and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The journey then continued towards Banda Daud Shah, an area known for its oil and gas exploration activities. The region lies near some of Pakistan's important hydrocarbon-producing zones and has played a role in the country's domestic energy production for decades.
