Honda Civic 8th Gen Coilovers – EVERYTHING You Need to Know! (Tips & Setup)

Installing coilovers, struts or springs on your 8th Gen Honda Civic? This video will make the job MUCH easier! Here’s a more complete guide on how to install coilovers / struts / springs on the Honda Civic 8th Gen, including 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 models. This procedure is also very similar for the Acura CSX 2006–2011, whether you have a Coupe, Sedan or Hatchback. The coilovers I’m installing in this video are Neo Motorsport, supposedly made in Canada, and they cost around $700 CAD. 🔧 IMPORTANT COILOVER INSTALLATION TIP! One of the biggest tips I can give you is for the rear suspension: 👉 Use a jack to slightly raise the rear hub before loosening the upper rear control arm bolt and lower rear strut bolt. This takes the tension off the suspension and makes those bolts MUCH easier to remove. Those 14mm Honda bolts can be a pain and are easy to strip, so make sure your socket is properly seated before putting a lot of force on them. Honestly, Honda should have used a thicker bolt head! 😂 📏 Coilover height adjustment Height adjustment depends on the specific coilover design. On the setup shown in this video, adjusting the threaded section changes the ride height — always check your coilover manufacturer’s instructions for the correct adjustment direction and procedure.
