Why I’m Seriously Considering Switching from Ableton to Bitwig

In this video I share my experience trying Bitwig Studio as a long-time Ableton Live user. After downloading the Bitwig Studio trial and spending about two weeks with it, I found myself much closer to switching from Ableton to Bitwig than I expected. This is not a simple “Bitwig vs Ableton” battle or a claim that one DAW is objectively better than the other. Ableton Live is still an amazing tool for music production, sound design, performance and arrangement. But Bitwig Studio offers some creative features that feel incredibly inspiring to me — especially when it comes to modulation, sequencing, sound design, generative music and experimental workflows. In this video, I talk about the three Bitwig features that stood out to me the most and explain why they made me seriously rethink my Ableton workflow. We’ll look at how Bitwig approaches modulation, why the Bitwig Grid feels so powerful for creative sound design, and how its sequencing and device system can open up new musical ideas very quickly.
