*Stop Building RBAC Like This! | Roles & Permissions in Node.js*
RBAC sirf roles assign karne tak limited nahi hona chahiye.
In this video, we take our Node.js + MongoDB RBAC implementation one step further by adding *permissions to roles* and using those permissions for more granular API access control.
Instead of asking only **“What is the user's role?”**, we can now ask:
*“What is this user actually allowed to do?”*
In this part, we'll build the foundation for *Role + Permission based access control* using Node.js, Express, MongoDB and Mongoose.
🚀 What You'll Learn
Role & Permission based access control
Permission model design
MongoDB indexing for permissions
Connecting roles with permissions
Adding role & permission data to users
Mongoose hooks
Adding permissions to JWT access tokens
Populating roles and permissions
Implementing `hasPermission()` in RBAC middleware

This is *Part 1* of the Roles & Permissions implementation series. In the upcoming part, we'll continue building on this permission-based authorization system.
If you're building secure Node.js APIs and want to understand how **RBAC works beyond simple role checks**, this series is for you.
