Free film looks for PhotoCraft. ODC Film Look is a free, open source plugin from Open Designer Cloud with 11 film looks (Kodachrome, Tri-X, Fuji Superia, bleach bypass and more) plus grain, vignette, faded blacks and warmth, in one dialog. It is a single 12 KB file.
Download the plugin (download page with the direct file link): https://opendesignercloud.com/odc-fil...
The file itself: https://opendesignercloud.com/media/p...
Source code on GitHub: https://github.com/opendesignercloud/...
GitHub releases (if you use GitHub, download the file from the newest release): https://github.com/opendesignercloud/...
License: Apache License 2.0. You can use it, change it and share it, including in commercial work, as long as you keep the license and notice files with it.
HOW TO INSTALL
1. Download the file odc-film-look.wasm.
2. In PhotoCraft open the Filter menu, choose Plug-ins, then Install Plug-in, and pick the file.
3. Run it from the Filter menu, Plug-ins, ODC Film Look.
In our testing on macOS and Linux, a plugin stays installed only until you quit PhotoCraft, so install it again after you quit.
THE LOOKS
Classic Film (the default), Custom (starts from nothing), Vintage Western, Fuji Superia 1600, Kodak Kodachrome 2, Tri-X, WhiteWedding, Kodak T-Max 400, Tri-X B and W, Matte Fade, High-Contrast B and W, Bleach Bypass, Golden Hour. The film names describe the style aimed for. They are our own approximations and not the real films, and the names belong to their owners.
The sliders adjust the look you pick, so 0 always means the look as designed. Controls: strength, grain, grain size, grain color, vignette (size, softness, roundness), fade, warmth and seed.
YOUR OWN PRESETS (COMMAND LINE TOOL)
PhotoCraft plugins run in a sandbox and cannot save settings, and the plugin dialog has no preset menu yet, so we included a small Python tool in the repository (odc-film-look, tools folder) that keeps your presets in a file. Examples:
python3 tools/film_look_presets.py list
python3 tools/film_look_presets.py add "Dusty Kodachrome" --from "Kodak Kodachrome 2" grain=20 vignette=15 warmth=10
python3 tools/film_look_presets.py edit "Dusty Kodachrome" grain=35 seed=4
python3 tools/film_look_presets.py apply "Dusty Kodachrome" photo.jpg photo-dusty.jpg
python3 tools/film_look_presets.py delete "Dusty Kodachrome"
RELEASED AS IS
We have used it on macOS and Linux and have not tested every platform. Plugins run as WebAssembly inside a sandbox, not as native code, so they are slower than PhotoCraft's built-in filters: in our timing a 16 megapixel photo took about 10 to 13 seconds on an M1 Mac. It does not include sharpening, texture or noise reduction steps, so a few looks are slightly less crisp than we would like. Contributions are welcome: open an issue on GitHub to report a problem or suggest a look, or send a pull request.

Recorded on PhotoCraft 0.20.1. PhotoCraft is early software and is advancing quickly, so a few features are still missing.
