🚂 Stoomtrein Katwijk-Leiden – Zomer 2026

In augustus 2026 heb ik de Stoomtrein Katwijk-Leiden bezocht en gefilmd. Tijdens deze zomerse ritten waren de omstandigheden erg warm en droog. ☀️ Door de **hitte en droogte was er een verhoogd risico op bermbranden**. Daarom kon de stoomlocomotief helaas niet worden ingezet. In plaats daarvan werden de ritten uitgevoerd met diesellocomotieven. In deze video is er naast de reguliere ritten nog veel meer te zien. Zo komen ook de Bankentrein, een bezoek aan de Valkenburgse remise, een tour door het binnenmuseum en de LGB-modelbaan aan bod. Tijdens de rondleiding door het binnenmuseum bekijken we verschillende historische objecten en onderdelen uit de geschiedenis van de spoorlijn. The summer weather was very warm and dry, creating challenging conditions for steam railway operations. ☀️ Due to the **high temperatures and dry conditions, there was an increased risk of trackside and grass fires**. As a result, the steam locomotive could unfortunately not operate. Instead, the scheduled services were operated by **diesel locomotives**. Although it was a shame not to see the steam locomotive in operation, the diesel trains still provided plenty of interesting railway action and made for an enjoyable summer railfan experience. The video also includes much more than the train rides themselves. I take you along for a look at the *Bankentrein**, a visit to the **Valkenburg railway depot**, a **tour of the indoor museum* and the **LGB model railway**. During the indoor museum tour, we take a look at historical railway objects and exhibits connected with the history of the railway.
