Radiation Rash Is NO JOKE! 🔥 What Nobody Tells You | Day 12 💗

💕 DAY 12 OF SUPPORTING THE FIGHT! 🎀 Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get discussed enough during breast cancer treatment… RADIATION RASH! The burning, itching, tenderness, and irritation can be extremely uncomfortable. And something as simple as taking a shower or drying off with a towel can become painful when your skin is sensitive from radiation. As a breast cancer survivor, I’m sharing some of the things I learned about caring for my skin during treatment. 💗 🎀 A FEW IMPORTANT REMINDERS: ✨ Be gentle when washing radiation-treated skin. ✨ Pat your skin dry instead of rubbing it with a towel. ✨ Ask your radiation care team which moisturizers are safe to use and when to apply them. ✨ Wear soft, loose-fitting clothing to help reduce irritation. ✨ If clothing is rubbing against irritated skin, ask your care team about appropriate protective dressings. Avoid putting plastic wrap or medical tape directly over the treatment area unless your care team specifically recommends it.
