Solo Travel Adventure: Gangasagar Youth Hostel to Namkhana via Ferry | Tips & Challenges

Join me on an adventurous and sometimes challenging journey from Gangasagar Youth Hostel to Namkhana. The trip starts with a Toto ride from Gangasagar Youth Hostel to K1 Bus Stand. From there, we switch to an auto service that takes us to Choyergheri. After another Toto ride from Choyergheri to Chemaguri Bazar, we embark on the final leg to Benuban Ferry Ghat, which proved challenging as the auto and Toto drivers often refused to carry solo travelers, insisting on reservations or waiting for more passengers. Patience was key during these waits. Banuban itself is a beautiful place, surrounded by the enchanting Sundari mangroves. The canopy walk leading to the jetty adds to its charm. However, the ongoing repair work at the jetty makes it difficult for kids and senior passengers. The adventurous journey continues with a thrilling ferry ride from Banuban to Narayanpur in Namkhana. After arriving, I took a Toto from Narayanpur Jetty to Namkhana Railway Station and enjoyed a delightful lunch at Radhakrishna Hindu Hotel, conveniently located at the station. The food was simply delicious! Tips for Fellow Travelers: Plan Ahead: Be prepared for potential delays, especially if traveling solo. Travel Light: The ongoing jetty repairs may require some walking; pack accordingly. Be Patient: Auto and Toto services might require you to wait for additional passengers. Enjoy the Scenery: The Sundari mangroves and canopy walk are truly breathtaking. Stay Safe: Keep an eye on your belongings and stay hydrated during the journey.
