Re-Animator: Filming Locations (Los Angeles) Episode 325 Re-Animator is a cult classic science fiction horror-comedy film from 1985, known for its over-the-top gore, dark humor, and passionate fanbase. The movie is loosely based on the H.P. Lovecraft short story "Herbert West-Reanimator" and centers on the brilliant but increasingly unhinged medical student Herbert West. The initial theatrical box office was modest, but when it was released on home video, originally on VHS, LaserDisc, and Betamax, Re-Animator became a major success.
