Crossing the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge, Hannibal, Missouri

Video taken while driving across the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge, which crosses the Mississippi River at Hannibal, Missouri. The bridge is named for the famous author Mark Twain, the pen name of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, who spent much of his childhood in Hannibal. This four-lane truss bridge opened in 2000 and was built to carry Interstate 72. The bridge also carries US 36 and Route 110, a bi-state Missouri-Illinois route known as the Chicago-Kansas City Expressway (CKC). It replaced a two-lane truss bridge with the same name that opened in 1936. Video recorded August 23, 2026.
