Brock Purdy Is BETTER Than You Think — Greg Cosell

The 49ers survived a dogfight with the Broncos, and now the big one is coming: Seattle. NFL Films legend Greg Cosell joins the show to break down what he saw on tape, and he has some strong takes. He explains why the Niners defense deserves more credit than the box score gave it, why Brock Purdy is the most underrated quarterback in football, and whether this team can finally push around Seattle's front. Cosell takes us inside his film notes on Bo Nix, who he says missed throws early and struggled badly against pressure. He credits Raheem Morris for being aggressive with the blitz. He also walks through a late-game Purdy play most fans would never remember, and says it's a perfect snapshot of who Purdy is. Then he looks ahead to Seattle, from the Mike Evans matchup against Josh Jobe to whether the Niners can fix the run game that got manhandled last year. Topics discussed include: Why Kyle Shanahan coaches the whole game, not just the big plays The 49ers defense and Raheem Morris's pressure schemes vs. Bo Nix Brock Purdy's numbers vs. the blitz and on third down The late-game Purdy "Y stick" read that never makes a highlight reel Why Seattle gave the Niners trouble last year Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel, and Christian McCaffrey as "movable chess pieces" The state of the 49ers' run game and running back room Sam Darnold, Seattle's offense, and what the Seahawks are missing Do you agree with Cosell on Purdy?
