BNSF 5621 Stack Z-Train East| *New Signals & Double Tracked* Avena Rd. Railroad Crossing, Escalon CA

Sep 15, 2026 A couple of months after the BNSF Stockton Sub double tracking between Lake and West Escalon now former sidings was completed, I decided to head on out and film all the crossings that were changed due to the double tracking project between here and down to Brennan Rd starting here in the early morning. The former ATSF setup with the split light and gate masts on one side is now a thing of the past and unfortunately, its bell combo also. Here we have a new BNSF mid 2020s signal install that I filmed for the first time. A BNSF Mid 2020s signal install is really no different than. their late 2010s and early 2020s signal install. The only difference is that now they started getting the Siemens light bracket junction box into their signal equipment. I wish at least BNSF would have changed their main LEDs to Leotek EV Series since they used one in Fresno, I was hoping because the next new BNSF install will start using them. BNSF late 2010s and early 2020s signals have Safetran junction boxes where as the mid 2020s has Siemens junction boxes. Note also in this video, I caught a rare opportunity to see a mirage due to the sun rays or the rising sun and the clouds casted a unique lighting effect that created an non existent city mirage.
