🚌 Experience the quieter side of Hampshire aboard Stagecoach South Route 64! Join me for an early Sunday morning double-decker journey from the historic city of Winchester to the charming market town of Alton, travelling through beautiful English countryside, traditional villages and the rolling hills of southern England. Leaving Winchester at 7:20 am, we make our way towards New Alresford, where colourful Georgian buildings, elegant old houses and picturesque streets bring a wonderful sense of English history to the journey. From there, the scenery gradually changes as we continue through the countryside around Ropley and Four Marks, passing peaceful rural landscapes and small communities before reaching the historic streets of Alton. There's an interesting connection along the way: Alresford, Ropley, Four Marks and Alton are also familiar names along the famous Watercress Line heritage railway, adding another touch of Hampshire's transport history to this countryside route. Our bus today is a Stagecoach South Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC double-decker, fleet number 10568. From the upper deck, there's a lovely opportunity to watch Hampshire slowly wake up on a quiet September morning, taking in the villages, country roads and everyday scenes that make these journeys so enjoyable. Whether you're here for the bus, the scenery, a little nostalgia or simply somewhere peaceful to escape for a while, I hope you'll enjoy travelling along with me. 🎥 The complete journey is filmed in 4K UHD at 50fps, with natural sounds throughout. No music, no commentary — just the authentic atmosphere of a British countryside bus ride. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🚌 JOURNEY INFORMATION 🛣️ Route: 64 📍 Journey: Winchester → Alton 🌳 Via: New Alresford • Ropley • Four Marks 🏢 Operator: Stagecoach South 🚍 Vehicle: ADL Enviro400 MMC 🔢 Fleet Number: 10568 🪪 Registration: SN16 OTD 📅 Filmed: Sunday, 06 September 2026 🕢 Departure: 7:20 am 🌡️ Temperature: Approx. 12°C / 53°F 📏 Distance: Approx. 24 miles / 39 km ⏱️ Journey Time: Approx. 47 minutes 🎥 Video: 4K UHD • 50fps 🎧 Audio: Natural Sounds • No Music • No Commentary ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 Highlights 00:30 Route Map 01:34 Winchester The Broadway (5) – First Stop 03:58 Winnall – Fairdown Close 05:51 No Man’s Land – Leigh House Hospital 07:36 No Man’s Land – Science Centre 16:34 New Alresford – Robertson Road 19:03 New Alresford – Broad Street 29:59 Four Marks – Kingswood Rise 32:03 Four Marks – Miller Drive 38:34 Alton – Sports Centre 42:49 Alton – High Street 45:10 Alton – House Hotel 46:28 Alton Rail Station (R) – Final Stop ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 💬 A LITTLE CONVERSATION ALONG THE WAY One of my favourite things about exploring Britain by bus is discovering how much character can be found between two towns — sometimes in a beautiful old building, sometimes in a quiet village street, and sometimes in a countryside view that appears around an unexpected corner. Do you have a favourite stretch of the Winchester–Alton route, or perhaps a memory of travelling through Alresford or Four Marks? I'd love to hear about it in the comments! 😊 If you enjoy unhurried journeys through the British countryside, you're always welcome to join me for more full-length 4K bus adventures.
