Vihurienkeli / Primordial Gate (split, 2026) raw atmospheric black metal

Today I bring you another split of seismic proportions. An alliance between Finland’s Primordial Gate and the US-based Vihurienkeli; Primordial Gate is Yöpyöveli - the entity behind Bronze Hall and Houre, and impresario of the Forest Gloom label. Vihurienkeli is Tuntematon; the prolific force behind the Hidden Dawn collective, alongside Blood Chariot, Namebearer, Rhûn, and Stone Crown. Together they deliver three tracks of primeval hypnotic blackened metal, surging and ascending over thirty-eight minutes with triumphant splendour. Each artist plays on the other side: Yöpyöveli of Primordial Gate on session drums for Vihurienkeli, Tuntematon of Vihurienkeli on backing vocals for Primordial Gate. A split of raw majesty that makes for one of the most immediately compelling collaborative albums in the space of a couple of weeks, along with the Gudsforladt and Molocchio album. Digital copies are available now from either artist. Tapes available in the EU now from Primordial Gate: https://primordialgate.bandcamp.com/a...
