Pull up a seat by the fire. East of Phoenix, Arizona, the Superstition Mountains hide one of the most famous lost-mine legends in the American West. This episode separates the documented history (Jacob Waltz, Julia Thomas, the 1891 flood, the 1895 newspaper story, and the 1931 disappearance of Adolph Ruth) from the legend that grew up around them. Narrated by Shane Coburn, who writes Westerns as S. Q. Coburn. His novel "Redstone the Star" is available on ElevenReader.
