Deep inside a freezing, fog-covered forest, the temperature rapidly drops to -11°C. With a heavy blizzard closing in, my only chance of enduring the freezing night was finding natural shelter before the daylight faded completely. In this solo bushcraft survival episode, I discovered a hollow, ancient tree trunk and turned it into an emergency shelter. But right as the structure was finished, the storm hit with full force. Every passing minute buried the forest deeper in thick snow and ice. To survive the sub-zero night, I had to: 🪵 Build an emergency hollow tree shelter from scratch 🔥 Start a survival fire with frozen tinder 🍲 Cook a warm, hearty meal to battle extreme hypothermia ⏳ Fight through a brutal night where every few hours meant stepping back out into the freezing storm just to find dry firewood.
