Two trail days in my Willys. First Rowher Flat with Arthur on September 5, then a full day at Hungry Valley SVRA on September 7. I'm still a beginner, and this trip was really about getting comfortable being out here on my own. At Hungry Valley I aired down to 19 PSI and ran Roadrunner, Schmidt Ranch, Meadows, Sterling Canyon, Rattler, Edison Canyon, Power Line Road and Condor. I went looking for a creek (the first water crossing was bone dry) and ended up finding Gold Hill Campground right next to it. Rain rolled through, I ran into some deer by the power lines, and I finally did the hill I was honestly nervous about. No music, just the sound from the trail. Filmed September 5 and 7, 2026. 00:00 Rowher Flat with Arthur 01:21 Where the pavement ends 01:54 Rock formations and the staging area 03:46 A good first trail 07:08 On to Hungry Valley 07:55 Airing down on Roadrunner Trail 10:17 Lunch and the first campground 11:01 Looking for the creek 13:32 Gold Hill Campground 14:35 At the creek 15:34 Schmidt Ranch and Meadows trails 17:24 Rain rolls in 18:02 Sterling Canyon and Rattler Trail 19:09 Edison Canyon and Power Line Road 20:51 Deer 21:40 Condor Trail 24:03 The hill 26:35 Heading home If you've got tips for a beginner, or you know what any of the stuff I was asking about is called, let me know in the comments.
