Storm season is approaching in Queensland, and living full-time in my van means I have to think a little differently about where I camp. This week I’m staying near Kenilworth on the Mary River and sharing the things I now look for when choosing campsites during the warmer, stormier months — including powered sites for air conditioning, avoiding camping underneath large gum trees, checking access if heavy rain turns the ground to mud, watching how close I am to rivers and creeks, and making sure I can still stay connected for work. I’m also trying to keep vanlife affordable, so finding low-cost camps that tick all those boxes is part of the challenge. Of course, a trip to Kenilworth wouldn’t be complete without visiting the famous Kenilworth Country Bakery… and getting one of their enormous donuts! 🍩 Solo vanlife isn’t just about finding beautiful places to camp. For me, it’s about learning how to keep travelling, working and enjoying this lifestyle safely through every season. 🚐 Solo vanlife in Queensland ⛈️ Preparing for storm season 🌳 Choosing safer campsites 💻 Working remotely from my van 🍩 Kenilworth Country Bakery #VanlifeAustralia #SoloVanlife #FemaleVanlife #QueenslandVanlife #Kenilworth #StormSeason #DigitalNomad
