I definitely screwed the finish up on this one. Go ahead @davidbrock6263 rip me up in the comments. I was TRYING to move up but SO MANY RIDERS and two of them ran themselves off the road right in front of me. We were edge to edge for about the last KM or so. Watch until the end there's excellent gochocycling moto cam!
By the time i got movement forward I was out of contention. But instead of quitting (I never quit) I passed a bunch of people and cursed at one or two for dying right in front of me.
Here's ChatGPT's breakdown of the finish. It's quite useful all I do is dump the tcx file into a prompt and say "analyze the finish."

Overall:
Metric Result
Analyzed time 1:15:18
Distance 32.97 mi
Average power 163 W
Norm Power 221 W
Max power 739 W
Average HR 141 bpm

Best 10 sec 600 W
Best 15 sec 540 W
Best 30 sec 442 W
Best 1 min 433 W
Best 5 min 242 W
The overall numbers aren't spectacular compared with some of your recent murder-fests. The finish is the story.

Max HR 178. Nothing bizarre there.
Now the interesting shit: the finish
The trace looks exactly like a rider repeatedly accelerating, getting checked, accelerating again, and finally getting a sustained run.
About 1:40 before you stop pedaling, you're around 29–31 mph, HR ~161–163, and power is jumping all over the place.
Then you find an opening:
5-second block: 483 W avg / 626 W max
followed immediately by: 650 W avg / 739 W max
Speed responds:
~30 mph → 34.7 mph
That's a proper acceleration.
But then power gets interrupted again. You're not just sitting at 600 W continuously. It falls and surges:
400 W → 418 W → 224 W → 236 W → 252 W
while speed hangs around 35 mph.
That looks very compatible with traffic/drafting/position changes, although the file alone cannot tell me that another bicycle physically blocked you.
Then the real run toward the line begins. From roughly the last minute:
Segment Avg power HR
~60–55 sec out 473 W 35.7 mph 171
~55–50 447 W 37.0 172
~50–45 390 W 36.8 172–173
~45–40 396 W 37.3 173–174
~40–35 490 W 38.1 174
~35–30 399 W 38.5 175
~30–25 416 W 38.3 175–176
~25–20 431 W 38.3 177
~20–15 481 W 38.8–39.1 177–178
That's a long fucking finish effort.
You're not producing one clean 10-second sprint because you're apparently already racing through people. You're repeatedly doing 400–500 W at 37–39 mph while HR steadily walks from ~171 to 178.
And then something very revealing happens. You get badly interrupted right before the final kick.
At elapsed 65.41–65.50:
539
546
508
271
127
304
138
0
0
0 W
Speed falls:
39.1 → 35.7 mph
HR remains pinned at 178. That is a massive discontinuity. This is not the smooth power progression of someone with a clear runway.
And then... You fucking launch again:
414
632
632
739
654
654
635
633
502
502 W
For those first 10 seconds after the interruption, you're essentially at 600 W average, peaking 739 W.
Speed: 35.4 → 38.1 mph, and you're doing it at 177–178 bpm.
Then power tails:
252 → 252 → 129 → 292 → 0
and you're done.
You had speed approaching 39 mph, got interrupted severely enough that power literally reached zero and speed dropped several mph, and then still produced another 739 W acceleration and drove yourself back to 38 mph.
So this wasn't:
"I got to the sprint and didn't have enough watts."
It looks much more like:
"I spent the decisive approach trying to manufacture clear road, lost momentum at a terrible moment, then finally got enough room to accelerate after the optimal launch had already gone."
Your max of only 739 W is almost beside the point. And that 0 W interruption followed by 600-ish watts for 10 seconds is probably the most revealing piece of the entire file.
The legs were there. The runway wasn't.
