Two sealed search warrants, one arrest warrant, and a misdemeanor complaint — this is what the Siders case origin actually looks like on paper in Vinton County, Ohio.
On June 30, 2026, deputies arrived at a house on Ohmer Street in Hamden, Ohio, and found sixteen children. What brought them there is where this video starts. Court records show an arrest warrant dated June 30 tied to four misdemeanor public indecency complaints against Gary Siders Jr., 36, filed over dates in late May (May 23, 27, 29, 31). But two search warrants executed that same day — one signed by a Vinton County judge, one by a probate judge — remain sealed, along with the affidavit that justified them. Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson described a separate, unrelated investigation running four to six weeks before the arrests, while a later August 21 release tied the Ohmer Street search to a March 2026 inquiry into Gary Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders, reportedly for a DNA sample. The Columbus Dispatch is suing to unseal both warrants; as of this reporting, no ruling has surfaced. We walk through the paper trail document by document — the complaint, the arrest warrant, the sealed search warrants, the missing affidavit and return — and lay out three competing readings of how this case actually began, in a county where a gag order now limits what officials can say on the record. Gary Siders Sr.'s case was dismissed October 6 after a competency ruling; Gary Jr., Elizabeth and Christina Siders remain charged, and all are presumed innocent.
Tell us in the comments: if you could unseal just one document in this case — the warrants, the affidavit, or the return — which would you pick?
