திருக்கச்சூர் ஆலக்கோயில் என்பது செங்கல்பட்டு மாவட்டம், மறைமலைநகர் அருகிலுள்ள திருக்கச்சூரில் அமைந்துள்ள பழமையான சிவத்தலம். இத்தலம் சுந்தரர் தேவாரம் பாடிய பாடல் பெற்ற தலம் என்பதால் மிகவும் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தது. 🕉️ ஆலக்கோயில் – பெயர் வந்த காரணம் இத்தலத்தின் இறைவன் கச்சபேஸ்வரர் என்றும், தியாகராஜர் சந்நிதியில் அமுதத் தியாகர் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். இறைவி அஞ்சனாட்சி அம்மை. பாற்கடலைக் கடைந்தபோது மந்தர மலையைத் தாங்குவதற்காக திருமால் கூர்மம் (ஆமை) வடிவம் எடுத்தார். அந்த ஆற்றலைப் பெற திருமால் இத்தலத்தில் சிவபெருமானை வழிபட்டதாக தலபுராணம் கூறுகிறது. அதனால் கச்சபம் → கச்சபவூர் → கச்சூர் என்று பெயர் வந்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. மேலும் இக்கோயில் ஆலமரத்தைத் தலமரமாகக் கொண்ட ஆலக்கோயில் என்பதும் இதன் முக்கியமான அடையாளம். 🙏 சுந்தரருக்கு சிவபெருமான் உணவு கொடுத்த கதை இதுதான் திருக்கச்சூர் ஆலக்கோயிலின் மிகவும் பிரபலமான சிறப்பு. சுந்தரர் திருக்கழுக்குன்றத்தை தரிசித்துவிட்டு திருக்கச்சூருக்கு வந்தார். நீண்ட பயணத்தால் களைப்பும் பசியும் ஏற்பட்டதால் கோயிலின் மதிற்புறத்தில் அமர்ந்தார். அப்போது சிவபெருமான் ஒரு அந்தணர் வடிவில் சுந்தரரிடம் வந்ததாக ஐதீகம். அவர் சுந்தரரை அங்கேயே இருக்கச் செய்து, ஊரில் உள்ள சிவனடியார்களின் வீடுகளுக்குச் சென்று உணவு பெற்று வந்து சுந்தரருக்கு அளித்தார். இதனால் சுந்தரரின் பசி தீர்ந்தது. “தன் அடியாரின் பசியைக் கூட சிவபெருமான் தன்னுடைய பசியாக எண்ணி உணவு தேடிச் சென்றார்” என்பதே இந்த நிகழ்வின் ஆன்மிகச் செய்தியாக பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த இறையருள் நிகழ்வை நினைத்து சுந்தரர் “முதுவாய் ஓரி கதற…” என்று தொடங்கும் பதிகத்தைப் பாடினார். இது ஏழாம் திருமுறை, 41-ஆம் பதிகம் எனக் குறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது. 📜 சுந்தரர் பாடிய பதிகத்தின் கருத்து சுந்தரர் அந்தப் பதிகத்தில் சிவபெருமானின் பல்வேறு திருவுருவங்களையும், அவருடைய கருணையையும் போற்றுகிறார். குறிப்பாக, “அதுவே யாமா றிதுவோ கச்சூர் ஆலக் கோயில் அம்மானே” என்று கச்சூர் ஆலக்கோயில் இறைவனைப் போற்றுகிறார். 🌿 இன்னும் சில சிறப்புகள் இறைவன்: கச்சபேஸ்வரர் / விருந்திட்டஈஸ்வரர் இறைவி: அஞ்சனாட்சி அம்மை தலமரம்: ஆலமரம் தீர்த்தம்: கூர்ம தீர்த்தம் சிறப்பு: சுந்தரர், அப்பர் உள்ளிட்டோர் வழிபட்ட தலம் முக்கிய ஐதீகம்: சிவபெருமான் அந்தணர் வடிவில் வந்து சுந்தரரின் பசியைப் போக்கியது. *Thirukachur Aalakoyil* is an ancient Shiva temple located in Thirukachur, near Maraimalai Nagar in Chengalpattu district. This temple is especially significant because it is one of the *Paadal Petra Sthalam* where Saint Sundarar sang hymns in praise of Lord Shiva. 🕉️ Why is it called Aalakoyil? The presiding deity of this temple is known as **Kachabeswarar**, and in the Thyagaraja shrine, he is worshipped as **Amudha Thyagar**. The Goddess is **Anjanakshi Amman**. According to the temple legend, when the Devas and Asuras churned the Ocean of Milk, Lord Vishnu took the form of a *Kurma (tortoise)* to support Mount Mandara. It is believed that Lord Vishnu worshipped Lord Shiva at this sacred place to receive the divine strength needed for this task. Therefore, the name is believed to have evolved from **Kachapa → Kachapavur → Kachur**. The temple is also known as *Aalakoyil* because the sacred *Banyan Tree (Aal Maram)* is the Sthala Vriksham, or sacred temple tree. 🙏 The Story of Lord Shiva Feeding Sundarar This is one of the most famous and touching legends associated with Thirukachur Aalakoyil. After worshipping Lord Shiva at **Thirukazhukundram**, Sundarar came to Thirukachur. Due to the long journey, he became tired and hungry and sat near the outer wall of the temple. According to the temple tradition, **Lord Shiva appeared before Sundarar in the form of a Brahmin. He asked Sundarar to stay there and went from house to house in the village, seeking food from the homes of Shiva’s devotees. He then brought the food and offered it to Sundarar, relieving his hunger. The spiritual message of this incident is that *Lord Shiva considered the hunger of His devotee as His own hunger and personally went in search of food for him.* Moved by this divine grace, Sundarar sang a **Pathigam beginning with “Muthuvaai Ori Kathara…”**. It is traditionally identified as **Pathigam 41 of the Seventh Thirumurai**. 📜 The Meaning of Sundarar’s Hymn In this Pathigam, Sundarar praises the various divine forms of Lord Shiva and celebrates His infinite compassion.
