The web version compresses the matching data to fit in a browser, so some picks may differ slightly from this video. Every one of the 6,955 frames of the Bad Apple!! shadow-art PV was split into an 8×6 grid, and each of the 48 cells was automatically matched to a single Unicode character. The search covered 410,510 rendered glyphs representing 155,230 Unicode characters. No hand-picking. Glyphs were stretched to fill each cell, and every cell was matched against the entire glyph dictionary using mean squared error.
