Vanda Top cut is one known method in producing keikis on vanda type orchids, it is very important that we know how to identify which part of the vanda orchid is a good candidate for top cutting in order to have a successful propagation. The best vanda orchid to top cut should have some roots above the point where it will be top cut so that the upper part that is cut will survive because it has already the roots that will go with it. The roots with a minimum of 3 root should have a least 4 to 5 inches long. Since we are cutting the top part during top cut, we would like to have the bottom part to be alive as well. In order that the bottom part will stay alive, it should have at least good roots and at least 4 leaves that will stay with the mother plant. After few weeks, expect keikis in between the leaves of the plant. ============================================================ "The Green Thumbs Pet" is a channel in the Philippines and created by Daren S.
