🎸🥁 Sometimes the best open-jam moments happen when nobody knows what’s about to happen! Back at Philly Down South for another open jam with Jimmy and Vinny, I jokingly threw out the obligatory rock-and-roll request: “PLAY SOME SKYNYRD, MAN!” 😂🤘 Well... Jimmy actually did! 🎤🪕 Jimmy (Jim Ross) — Vocals & Ukulele 🎸 Vinny Cashin — Guitar 🥁 Stevie Strow — Drums Jimmy launched into “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and before Vinny or I knew what was happening, he turned it into a fantastic mash-up with “All Summer Long” by Kid Rock! 🌞🎶 It was a genuine surprise for both of us—which meant we just had to listen, follow along, and hang on for the ride. 😂🥁🎸 And that's what makes an open jam so much fun. No rehearsal. No set arrangement. Sometimes not even a warning! Just musicians reacting to each other and creating something spontaneous while the audience gets to experience it right along with us.
