Why God Makes You Wait So Long (The Answer Is Bigger)

Why does God make you wait so long? Often it's because the answer is bigger than the one small thing you asked for. He's not filling a cup. He's digging a well. You asked God for one small thing, and all you got was more waiting. It's easy to read that silence as a no. But the size of a wait often matches the size of the answer. In this reflection we sit with four people in Scripture who asked for one thing, were made to wait, and found the wait was hiding an answer far bigger than the words they prayed: the man lowered through the roof who came for his legs and left forgiven, blind Bartimaeus who asked for sight and was handed a whole new road, the woman of Shunem who was given the very prayer she'd stopped daring to pray, and Solomon, who asked for wisdom and heard God name the gifts he never even asked for.
