Horn Concerto nr 3, mov 2,: Romance, KV447, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Professor P plays the Romance (mov. 2) from Mozart's second concerto for horn and orchestra, in an arrangement for accordion sextet (or orchestra with solo) by Paul De Bra. In this arrangement the solo for “Horn” is played on the LH or 16-4 register. This part also doubles as bassoon using the L or 16’ register. This Romance is very melodious and also slow, which makes it relatively easy to play. The arrangement has a bit more subtle dynamics than the original (which has only forte and piano throughout). Especially in an orchestra with solo care should be taken to not make the solo drown in louder tutti voices. Professor P recorded this arrangement using 5 different accordions and bass accordion. The solo was played on a Bugari 540/ARS/C. Enjoy!
