What started as a beautiful day exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains turned into a spider nightmare! 🕷️😂
I took my sister out for a day of off-roading at Beasley Knob OHV Area near Blairsville, Georgia, with the top off my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The plan was simple: enjoy the mountain scenery, tackle some trails, and spend a little time together in the great outdoors.
The day started out perfectly. The forest was lush and green, the trails were still wet from the previous day's rain, and we were enjoying everything North Georgia has to offer.
Of course, Beasley Knob had a few surprises waiting for us.
One particularly stubborn rocky, root-covered obstacle forced me to break out the winch. Not exactly my proudest off-roading moment, but sometimes the smarter choice is to recover rather than risk breaking something—especially when you're wheeling alone.
But the real adventure was still ahead.
As we made our way through Trail 93, it became obvious that nobody had been through that section in a while. Massive Joro spider webs stretched across the trail, complete with their very large occupants.
Did I mention my sister absolutely HATES spiders?
And did I mention we had the TOP OFF THE JEEP? 😂
What followed was a series of hilarious reactions as we encountered spider after spider, with absolutely nothing between us and the webs.
Sometimes the most memorable part of an adventure isn't the trail itself—it's the unexpected things that happen along the way.
Come along for some beautiful North Georgia scenery, a little off-road recovery, and one very entertaining encounter with the local spider population!
