17-year-old Arjun Aravind is accused of killing his mother, Sudha Venkatesan, and his younger brother, 14-year-old Siddarth Aravind, inside their Acton, Massachusetts home.
But the part of this case I keep coming back to is what appears to have been happening before the killings.
Reports describe concerns about Arjun’s behavior, violent online activity, a developmental disability, and alleged ChatGPT conversations involving increasingly specific violent themes.
In this episode of UNHEARD: Presumed, I look beyond the allegation itself and examine the adolescent-development and psychological questions surrounding the case: fixation, rehearsal, executive functioning, behavioral warning signs, and what we still don’t know about Arjun’s functioning before August 11.
Arjun Aravind is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. He is due back in court on September 11.
I’ll continue watching this case for new developments and will bring you updates as more information becomes available.
