The controversy surrounding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has intensified following a report alleging that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi raised objections on several Election Commission decisions. The ECI, however, has said that such differences are part of internal deliberations and maintained that final decisions were taken unanimously. Under Article 324 of the Constitution, the Chief Election Commissioner can be removed only in the same manner and on the same grounds as a Supreme Court judge.
