By renaming numbers and combining place values, we will understand the upcoming lessons of multiplying with regrouping. We can rename a whole number by drawing a quick picture of Base 10 blocks, or by using a place-value chart to help us. We can draw squares that represent the different amounts of each Base 10 block. One large cube is equal to 1000 units. 1 flat is equal to 100 units. One long is equal to 10 units. We show several examples of renaming thousands, hundreds, or tens. We show a few word problems involving renaming numbers and using a place-value chart to help us answer the questions. 4th Grade Math Playlist (2015)    • 4th Grade Math Course   I'm using the Houghton Mifflin Go Math! 2015 copyright textbook for this playlist.
