I Stopped Chasing MLB and Chose Banana Ball

Shane Greene’s journey from MLB All-Star to the Party Animals wasn’t the comeback he originally imagined. After chasing a return to Major League Baseball, pitching winter ball, and getting released in Mexico, a new chapter opened in Banana Ball. In this video, I look back at the year that changed my relationship with baseball—and what led me to the Party Animals as the No. 3 overall pick in the Banana Ball draft. When I started documenting this journey, the goal was simple: get a locker, bring a camera, and fight my way back to MLB. After surgery, rehab, and opportunities in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, I had to ask myself a harder question: how long do you keep chasing the same dream before you give yourself permission to chase something new? I talk about getting released in Mexico, the sacrifices behind a professional baseball career, finding an identity beyond being a baseball player, and discovering a passion for helping young athletes.
