Well, it's time. Mega Man will, once again, storm Wily's Fortress. Or Wily's Castle. I'm not really sure. This time, it seems to be raining outside. Seems that most of these robots are waterproof though, so the rain doesn't bother them much, if at all. The stage here is pretty generic, being a mishmash of various stage gimmicks and enemies from the Robot Master stages, and I have a (just under) 5000 character limit for the descriptions, so I'll focus this space on the three bosses here, collectively known as the Weapons Archive. The Weapons Archive uses weapons from past Robot Masters. By this, I don't mean from this game; I mean from the entire original Mega Man series before. Each Weapons Archive uses attacks from three prior Robot Masters. The first uses one each from Mega Man 1, 2, and 3. The second uses one each from Mega Man 4, 5, and 6. The last uses one each from Mega Man 7, 8, and 9. No Mega Man & Bass, sadly. The Robot Masters featured in the first Weapons Archive is Elec Man (Mega Man 1) on the left, which uses the Thunder Beam. The middle unit represents Gemini Man (Mega Man 3), which uses the Gemini Laser. The right unit mimics Wood Man (Mega Man 2), which uses the Leaf Shield. The Elec Man unit will go to the left, unless Mega Man is on the left in which case it goes to the right. It'll fire a low beam, a high beam, and then a low beam. Mega Man can jump over the low beams and stand still for the high beams. The Gemini Man unit will fire a laser horizontally in Mega Man's direction, which will then bounce around the room slowly as the unit hovers around. Jump over the laser at the beginning, then avoid jumping while running around. The Wood Man unit just sits there with a Leaf Shield around it. Damaging leaves fall from the top, then the unit will fire the Leaf Shield. Jump over the shield, then focus on dodging the leaves. Chances are the Wood Man unit will go down first, which makes the battle easier. The second one also has three units. The left unit takes from Ring Man (Mega Man 4), which uses the Ring Boomerang. The middle unit is based on Napalm Man (Mega Man 5), which uses the Napalm Bomb. The right unit is about Flame Man (Mega Man 6), which uses the Flame Blast. If Mega Man is on the left, the Ring Man unit will go to the bottom right and fire a Ring Boomerang. It'll move to the upper-right and the ring will diagonally follow the unit back. It'll fire another ring forward, move back to the bottom, and let the ring follow it back diagonally. The unit will then move to the left and repeat this process, only firing the ring to the right. If Mega Man is on the right, it'll do a mirror image. Jump over the ring when on the ground and run towards the unit, firing away. The Napalm Man unit hops around, releasing Napalm Bombs at each apex. Just run under the unit when it jumps, and it will always miss. The Flame Man unit, like the Wood Man one, is stationary. It fires three Flame Bursts that move slowly, then release six Mega Buster blocking fire pillars. It's hard to dodge, but you can do it if you remember where the pillars rise--it never changes. The third unit definitely gives me the most trouble. The left unit copies Frost Man (Mega Man 8), which uses the Ice Wave. The middle unit has Slash Man (Mega Man 7) data, which uses the Slash Claw. The right unit imitates Tornado Man (Mega Man 9), which uses the Tornado Blow. All of these are pretty difficult to dodge, though for different reasons. The left unit will sit there, fire an Ice Wave, make a short hop, then fire another. The Ice Wave is too big to easily jump over--if you're on the same side of the unit as the Ice Wave, you're going to get hit. Instead, get up right next to the unit, then jump over it to the other side right before it launches the ice and get some hits in. It'll do this 3 times before returning to its spot. The middle unit moves much like the left, but it's faster. The middle unit's Slash Claws can be jumped over. Don't bother dodging it by running as it's too fast. The unit will also try to land on Mega Man; it'll miss if you run away when it's jumping. The right unit will sit there and spin and launch tornadoes straight up from directly underneath Mega Man. Stay on the wall opposite from the unit and run towards it firing away, and it'll all miss. Then, run back towards the wall to dodge the second wave. Jump if you don't think you'll make it in time. Mega Man will venture deeper into the base for Wily Stage 2 in the next video.
