In 2017, a horror game about a doomsday cult in the wilderness came out. Its makers said it was largely based on Jonestown. This is the real story: how a preacher from a small town in Indiana built a church that fought racism, moved it to San Francisco and then into the jungle of Guyana, and how 918 people died there on November 18, 1978. The voices you hear on the tapes are real. They come from FBI evidence tape Q042, recorded that night, and from tape Q048, recorded the evening before. Is there another game you think is hiding a true story? Tell me in the comments. I read all of them. 0:00 The tape 1:48 I · Indiana 4:26 II · San Francisco 6:34 III · Jonestown 9:22 IV · The Visit 10:39 V · The Airstrip 12:26 VI · November 18 14:21 VII · After 16:07 VIII · The Game 17:44 The tapes If this story affects you personally, you are not alone.
