On Jan. 6, 2024, we came together with Firdosh Mehta to learn about the joy of Maidyarem Ghambar & Yalda. Maidyarem Ghambar, which occurs from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4 this year, is one of six seasonal feasts in the Zoroastrian tradition, and marks the winter solstice, celebrated by Zoroastrians as Yalda. Brought up in Mumbai, Firdosh has been involved with the North American Zarathushti community for more than four decades, and is the past president of the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America, Associations of Alberta & BC, and the Edmonton Interfaith Centre. His scholarship and knowledge of the Zoroastrian religion has made him a popular presenter at various universities, Interfaith groups and Zarathushti associations. Firdosh is also a graduate of Shivaji University, India, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts, and is an award-winning mechanical/industrial engineer. #livinginterfaithsanctuary #Zoroastrian #zoroastrianism
