Painting a Place to Relax by the Sea

When I look at this acrylic painting, I imagine sitting on the white steps and looking out at the sea. The flowers and blue door make the house feel welcoming. It’s the kind of place where I would happily spend an afternoon. I wanted to bring that feeling into a painting. I enjoy painting a house on a blank canvas, then adding the small details that make it feel like somewhere you could visit. Here, it’s the flowers above the doorway and the petals scattered on the steps. You can watch me create it from the first sketch to the finished painting.
