Swollen Battery Split This iPod Nano Apart — Can It Be Saved?

Customer brought in this 3rd generation iPod Nano with a lithium battery that had swollen so badly it actually forced the case apart. The battery was completely puffed, the original screen needed replacement, and the housing had been pushed out of shape from the pressure. In this video I take it apart, remove the damaged battery, install a replacement battery and new LCD screen, then see if this old iPod Nano can actually be brought back to life. The good news: it works again! The bad news: the original case was distorted so badly by the swollen battery that it would no longer properly click back together. This is a good example of just how much damage an expanding lithium battery can cause inside older electronics.
