I Checked Jay Dyer Against the Sources Again

Eastern Orthodox apologist ‪@JayDyer‬ makes a lot of claims about others with a lot of confidence. But once again, when those claims are checked against the actual sources, a very different picture emerges. In this episode, we examine Jay’s criticisms of "Calvinism" and Reformed theology on predestination, divine sovereignty, free will, secondary causation, and Christology. Along the way, we’ll compare his claims with the Reformed confessions and theologians he is criticizing, and then follow his Christological argument into Augustine, Maximus the Confessor, the ecumenical councils, Thomas Aquinas, and the broader Western Christian tradition. The result is another case of Jay shadowboxing a version of “Calvinism” and “Protestantism” that largely exists in his own imagination (poor guy).
