Chained Echoes Is the Best JRPG I've Ever Played | 100% Review

*This is a spoiler-free review.* While you'll see footage of different locations, characters, and battles throughout the game, I don't discuss major story revelations or go into the plot in detail. In my view, it's a safe watch even if you're planning to play it yourself. I 100% completed Chained Echoes — and after spending around 57 hours with it, I wanted to talk about why it became the most enjoyable JRPG experience I've had so far. Chained Echoes is a turn-based JRPG inspired by classic games of the genre, combining a fantasy world, a story full of twists, memorable characters, exploration, and a combat system built around managing your party and the Overdrive mechanic. After playing games like Octopath Traveler and Sea of Stars, I was starting to feel burned out by JRPGs, especially when it came to grinding and completing everything. But Chained Echoes surprised me. Its exploration, rewarding progression, and approach to combat kept me engaged far longer than I expected. In this review, I'll go through the story and characters, exploration, character progression, combat, and what it's actually like to 100% the game — including what worked for me and the rough edges that held it back. If you're curious about Chained Echoes, or wondering whether it's worth playing and completing 100%, this is my full review.
