Our guest, a filmmaker and storyteller, shares how years of persistent ankle pain eventually led to surgery for a non-cancerous bone cyst. But what doctors discovered afterwards changed everything: Pseudomonas with resistance to several antibiotics. Only two antibiotics were found to be effective. One was not available in the country. Finding the other meant navigating cost, availability and treatment while still recovering from surgery and moving around on crutches. But this conversation is about more than the infection. It is about the uncertainty of receiving treatment without being able to easily confirm what came next. It is about the importance of reliable health information.
