How to Maximise Control and Proximity in EU5

Control and Proximity are the most important mechanics in EU5 1.2; They determine how much of your own economy that you have control over, affect your armies, your economy, your towns and cities, your population, unlock new buildings and ultimately, they affect everything in your entire game. And there’s been a big change in 1.3.4, with Proximity Speed coming in. What the hell is Proximity Speed? It’s basically proximity cost, but with some multiplicative changes. The answer is in the video, and you’ll definitely learn it quickly. It’s more of a system like naval control, maritime presence, and harbour capacity. They all work together to get you control over your nation - especially with Local and Naval governors added in 1.2! So you NEED to know what the 1.3 meta is for everything control and proximity, where best to place and use Local and Naval governors, What buildings to build? Where to make Bailiffs? And ultimately What economic loop should you be using with a high control nation? Because you’re about to become one!
