***** This "slice" of Jeremiah's life is a stark, ash-strewn canvas of catastrophic grief and broken beauty, musically "painted" with earth-scorching rhythm and towering sonorities. Jeremiah's ancient emotional spectrum maps perfectly onto the modern human experience. We relate to it. Feelings of loss, anger, isolation, hollow blame, and self-pity are emotions humans have all felt at one time or another - regardless of millennia. After hundreds of times conducting this work, I did a newly revised (Anniversary) edition, replete with interpretive notes in the score, and changes in dynamics and tempi (but NO note changes) from the original printing. This new interpretation was recorded by THE NEW AMERICAN VOICES under my direction. I also did a video/interview detailing the various emotions/musical "motivations" of the work:    • LAMENTATIONS OF JEREMIAH:  Commentary from...   SATB/Piano (also for SATB/orchestra or SATB/wind ensemble) Alliance Music #0356; duration 4:45. Join the over 4,450 subscribers to Randall's channel, and see/hear the other 114 videos he has created. Several new works have just been recorded, including his new extended (six-movement) work, IN PARADISUM - released the spring. (Go to zrstroope.com to listen and see a score.)
