Newton–Raphson example in Matlab and Octave

This video runs through taking some sample code implementing a simple Newton–Raphson scheme (aka "Newton's method") and uses it to find a root of a simple function: a cubic polynomial. I did most of this off the top of my head, including making mistakes and trouble-shooting them live.
