Have you ever had one anxious thought completely change how you feel? “What if something bad happens?” “What if I have a panic attack?” “What if I can’t cope?” “What if this feeling never goes away?” The problem isn’t necessarily that these thoughts appear. It’s that anxiety can make us treat them as though they’re facts, predictions or problems that need to be solved. In this episode of The Anxiety Relief Podcast, I explain why your brain produces unwanted and anxious thoughts, why frightening thoughts can feel so convincing, and how constantly arguing with them or searching for certainty can keep you trapped in the anxiety cycle. You’ll learn how to create some distance from anxious thoughts, recognise the difference between a real problem and a hypothetical “what if”, and start responding without getting pulled into endless overthinking. I’ll also give you a simple technique to practise the next time anxiety throws another “Yeah, but what if...?” at you. Remember: A thought isn’t a fact. It isn’t a prediction. And it isn’t an instruction. You don’t need to believe everything you think. Send us Fan Mail (https://www.buzzsprout.com/2568971/fa...) Support the show (https://www.buzzsprout.com/2568971/su...)
