Thousands of acres of fertile farmland currently lie between the fence and the border, forcing farmers to work under strict Border Security Force protocols that limit access, labour and machinery. While farmers argue that changing smuggling methods, drone surveillance and modern border management make the shift practical, security agencies remain cautious due to infrastructure costs and strategic concerns. The issue, rooted in the militancy era of the late 1980s and revisited repeatedly, highlights the complex balance between national security, border management and farmers’ livelihoods, discussed recently during meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. ************************************************************************* महत्त्वपूर्ण प्लेलिस्ट: 1.
