Crushing Rainbow Trout on the Patapsco River

Sammie’s Birthday Trout Adventure! Join Sammie and me as we hit our local waters for a special birthday fishing trip! Armed with both spinning and Tenkara gear, we spent a perfect day on the water targeting beautiful rainbow trout. It turned out to be an unforgettable outing—we landed 6 gorgeous trout in total, and fittingly, birthday girl Sammie landed both the biggest fish of the day and the absolute prettiest! We used a tag-team strategy, leveraging our spinning gear to locate and flush out where the fish were hiding before targeting them with our Tenkara setups. The trout couldn't resist a variety of patterns, including Olsen's Blowtorch, pheasant tail nymphs, squirmy wormies, scuds, and hare's ears.
