This is a 12-minute video of action from the April 29, 1969 Game 4 of the National Basketball Association Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Celtics at Boston Garden, won by the Celtics, 89-88. The film, with no sound, is from the Associated Press' AP Archive. Contact the AP Archive to license a copy without watermark. NOTE: Some of this is chronological, but a lot is not. From the Wikipedia account of the '69 Finals: "Game 4 was an ugly affair, filled with 50 turnovers and low shooting percentages, but was the turning point in the series. The Lakers had a 1-point lead with 7 seconds left and the ball. However, after receiving an inbound pass along the sideline, Elgin Baylor was controversially ruled to have stepped out of bounds, causing a turnover. For the last play, [John Havlicek passed to Sam ] Jones, who jumped off the wrong foot, but the ball avoided the block attempt of Lakers center Wilt Chamberlain, hit the front rim, bounced on the back rim, and dropped in for the series-equalizing buzzer-beater. So instead of the Lakers going home with a 3–1 series lead, it was even at 2 games apiece." This AP footage didn't have either of those plays, but I found Sam's shot (thanks to the great 70sfan on YouTube!) and was able to reconstruct the final seven seconds (11:18). I just posted it for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.
