What happens when you get laid off twice in one year and realize the career you thought was secure isn't anymore?
In Episode 16 of Business That Speaks, Kelsie Downs sits down with Clint Williams, a business coach and advisor who helps business owners and their teams build stronger leadership, develop confidence, and navigate the challenges of growing an organization.
Clint's career began in graphic design before transitioning into agency operations, client relationships, business development, and eventually entrepreneurship. In 2015, he helped launch a digital agency, experiencing firsthand the challenges of building a company, managing partnerships, supporting employees, and balancing the responsibilities of business ownership with family life.
After years of unexpected challenges, including the loss of a major client, the pandemic, difficult personal transitions, and eventually stepping away from entrepreneurship, Clint found himself facing another major setback.
In 2024, he was laid off twice.
What followed was a season of uncertainty, personal growth, and a realization that his experiences had prepared him for something different.
Today, Clint uses those lessons to help business owners develop the people working closest to them, especially the second-in-command leaders who carry significant responsibility but often lack the coaching, support, and confidence they need to thrive.
Kelsie and Clint discuss resilience, leadership development, overcoming difficult workplace experiences, building trust, learning to make decisions confidently, and why sometimes the most important thing a business owner can do is ask for help.
